What Is LOMBOK-IX?
LOMBOK-IX is a neutral and open Internet Exchange Point (IXP) strategically located in Lombok, Indonesia. An IXP serves as a central hub where network operators—including Internet Service Providers (ISPs), content providers, cloud services, and government or educational institutions—can interconnect.
By connecting at LOMBOK-IX, participating networks, known as members, can directly exchange traffic or "peer" with one another. This collaboration enables them to enhance network performance, increase resiliency, and significantly reduce operational costs.
Why Connect?
Direct peering at LOMBOK-IX offers clear and measurable advantages. Instead of paying for expensive transit to exchange data with networks that are physically nearby, members can connect directly.
This process dramatically lowers latency, improves user experience, and reduces operational expenses by ensuring that traffic originating in the region stays local, rather than taking inefficient international routes.
